ABOUT US :: Company History
Mattcon General Contractors, Inc., incorporated in 1992, has been serving a
broad range of public and private clients. Founded by Peter H. Mattingly,
the company has charted a path of steady growth while performing a
broad range of services for an ever-expanding list of clients. We are
a $10 million-and-growing
company with a mixed list of projects, both public and private, ranging
from $100,000 to $4 million.
Pete Mattingly, President and founder, began his 22 years in commercial
construction working for Marathon Oil Co. and then Holder Construction
Co. in Atlanta and Florida. As a structural engineer, project manager,
and Vice President of Florida Operations, Pete supervised commercial
construction projects valued at $180 million.
Mattcon works exclusively in the commercial construction. We
have completed projects ranging from golf courses, parks, industrial
and commercial renovations to a complete array of new free standing structures.
Our goal is to mix our workload as closely as possible between public
and private work.
We have a dedicated staff of professionals with over 40 years experience,
some of whom have been with us since our founding. Starting as carpenters
in the field, our superintendents were promoted from within and are able
to draw from years of experience in the construction industry.
Our staff of office professionals are cross trained in all aspects of
the construction business, including project management, estimating and
field supervision.
We have used Primavera scheduling since 1992 to assist in on-time & within
budget project completions. We also use a state-of-the-art internet-based
project control system to assist the entire project team in tracking changes,
submittals, RFI's, and the shop drawing process.
